Saudi Arabia Sets SAR 100,000 Fine for Unreported Pilgrim Overstays
Hajj and Umrah service companies must report pilgrims who overstay their authorised period or face financial penalties.
Hajj and Umrah service companies in Saudi Arabia could face fines of up to SAR 100,000 if they fail to notify authorities when pilgrims or Umrah performers remain in the Kingdom beyond their authorised period of stay.
According to Saudi Public Security, the penalty applies to companies and establishments that delay reporting individuals who overstay their permitted visit. Authorities added that the fine may be multiplied according to the number of violators involved.
The announcement clarifies that reporting overstays is the responsibility of Hajj and Umrah service providers and that delays in informing the relevant authorities may trigger the financial penalties.
Public Security also called on residents to report violations of residency, labour and border security regulations through official reporting channels across the Kingdom, including in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province.
Authorities said all reports will be handled with complete confidentiality and confirmed that individuals submitting information through official channels will bear no legal responsibility.
