Saudi Schools to Expand Google Online Safety Training Nationwide
Over 126,000 pupils, teachers and caregivers will receive training through an expanded Google-backed programme over three years.
More than 126,000 pupils, teachers and caregivers across Saudi Arabia are set to receive online safety training over the next three years through an expanded programme delivered by INJAZ Al-Arab with support from Google.org.
The initiative will extend Abtal Al Internet, Google’s Arabic-language online safety curriculum, across public schools nationwide. INJAZ Al-Arab said the programme will reach 120,000 primary school pupils, 3,750 teachers and 2,250 caregivers, covering responsible online behaviour, digital citizenship and online safety through interactive learning.
Teachers and caregivers will also receive dedicated training so they can reinforce the material at school and at home. The programme has been endorsed by the Ministry of Education and was launched during the INJAZ Saudi Arabia National Competition in the presence of Saad bin Awadh Al-Harbi, Deputy Minister of Education for General Education.
The expanded rollout builds on an existing collaboration between INJAZ Al-Arab and Google that has provided online safety training to more than 76,000 people in Saudi Arabia since 2021.
