Saudi Space Agency Publishes Five-Year Guide to Celestial Events

The Saudi Space Agency has published a five-year guide to major astronomical events expected to be visible across Saudi Arabia between 2026 and 2030.
The guide includes 62 events spanning solar and lunar eclipses, meteor showers, planetary conjunctions and oppositions, as well as equinoxes and solstices.
Each entry provides the expected timing and characteristics of the event alongside simplified scientific definitions, giving members of the public and astronomy enthusiasts a reference for planning observations.
Nine events are listed for 2026, followed by 12 in 2027, 14 in 2028, 15 in 2029 and 12 in 2030.
The guide also includes instructions for observing celestial phenomena using safe and scientifically appropriate methods, particularly for events such as solar eclipses that require specialised viewing precautions.
The publication forms part of the Saudi Space Agency’s educational work around astronomy and space science. Its existing resources include the Knowledge Space Portal, which provides explanatory material for students, researchers, enthusiasts and the wider public.
