Saudi Summer Temperatures Forecast to Rise Above Normal in 2026
Temperatures could exceed seasonal averages by up to 1.6°C in parts of Saudi Arabia during July and August.
Temperatures across Saudi Arabia are expected to remain above seasonal averages throughout summer 2026, according to a seasonal climate outlook issued by the National Center for Meteorology.
The forecast projects above-normal temperatures across all regions of the Kingdom, while rainfall levels are expected to range between near-normal and below-normal depending on location and month.
For June, rainfall is expected to remain close to seasonal averages across Saudi Arabia.
However, forecasts for July indicate below-normal rainfall in Jazan, Baha, parts of Asir, Makkah, Najran and the Eastern Province, while other regions are expected to record near-normal precipitation levels.
The report also outlined projected temperature increases during the summer months. In June, temperatures could rise by up to 1.5°C above normal across Jazan, Baha, parts of Makkah, Asir, Madinah, Riyadh, Qassim, Hail and Tabuk.
During July and August, temperatures are expected to exceed seasonal averages by as much as 1.6°C in Jazan, Baha and parts of Asir and Makkah.
According to the National Center for Meteorology, the seasonal outlook is intended to support planning and preparedness across operational and service sectors by providing advance guidance on expected climate conditions.
