Temperatures to Drop by Up to 3°C Across Egypt This Week

Temperatures across most of Egypt are expected to drop by around 2°C to 3°C from Sunday through Thursday, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority.

Despite the slight decline, hot and humid conditions will continue across most of the country during the day, while southern Upper Egypt will remain very hot. Nights and early mornings are expected to stay warm and humid.

Maximum temperatures are forecast at 30°C to 31°C along the northern coast, 34°C to 35°C in Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt, and 35°C to 37°C in northern Upper Egypt.

Southern Upper Egypt will remain the hottest part of the country, with daytime highs expected to reach around 39°C to 41°C.

The authority also warned of morning mist between 4 AM and 8 AM on some roads leading to and from northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Canal cities, central Sinai and northern Upper Egypt. Motorists may experience reduced visibility in affected areas.

Winds are expected to become active at times on Sunday across several parts of the country and may stir up sand and dust in some areas of southern Egypt.

There is also a chance of intermittent light rain over parts of the northern coast and northern Lower Egypt on Sunday.
