Umrah Hotline Answers Over 100,000 Religious Enquiries
The automated toll-free service provides answers in 15 languages on Umrah rulings and rituals.
More than 100,000 religious enquiries were answered during the first quarter of the current Umrah season through the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance’s automated toll-free phone service.
The service, operated through the General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness in Hajj, Umrah and Visit, provides verified information on Umrah rulings and rituals in 15 languages, including Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Indonesian, Filipino, Hausa, Bangla and Hindi.
The ministry said the system is intended to make religious guidance more accessible to pilgrims of different nationalities throughout the 1448 AH season. During peak periods in Ramadan and Hajj, the service also enables direct and visual communication with preachers for enquiries that require additional guidance.
The programme forms part of the ministry’s wider use of digital tools to provide Islamic awareness services and explain pilgrimage rites to visitors.
