Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation Network Launched in Abu Dhabi
The system will coordinate reports, rescue operations, treatment and rehabilitation for injured or stranded wildlife across the emirate.
The Environment Agency Abu Dhabi has launched a wildlife response network to coordinate the rescue, treatment and rehabilitation of injured or stranded animals across the emirate.
The network brings together government bodies, conservation organisations, academic partners and community members under one reporting and response system. Cases can be logged through the network before participating teams coordinate field intervention, treatment and rehabilitation.
Data collected through these cases will also feed into conservation planning, helping the agency identify patterns and shape future wildlife protection strategies.
The initiative builds on rescue work carried out in Abu Dhabi since 2016. The agency said future plans include introducing real-time tracking tools to improve visibility over active cases and expanding training for rescue teams across the emirate.
