3ala Mazag: TamTam [Curated Playlist]

In the latest edition of our 3ala Mazag playlist series, Saudi artist TamTam takes over the aux with a sprawling selection of the tracks that have shaped her, her all-timers, her inspirations, and the songs she returns to when she needs grounding.

The LA-based singer-songwriter has carved out a singular lane in the regional scene with her distinctive sound, a bilingual fusion of deeply introspective lyricism, often steeped in Arabic poetic tradition, with the edge of alt-pop.

Reflecting on the playlist, TamTam tells SceneNoise: “Lately, I’ve been carving music that gives me lighter, good-vibe energy, not because I’m done writing about emotions, I never will because music is how I heal. But because I’m learning that you can feel your feelings and still move and dance through them.”

Titled ‘Dance Introspective’, TamTam’s curated playlist is a mosaic of various genres and sounds, featuring picks from global icons like Daft Punk, Madonna, Depeche Mode and Gorillaz to regional favourites like Wegz and Felukah. “Some of these songs are emotional, some are uplifting, but together they create the balance I’ve been stepping into.”
