Absurdist Rap Meets Left-Field Club on MARTINA & Gabalawy’s ‘Trella’

Egyptian DJ and producer MARTINA has teamed up with emerging Cairo-based rapper Gabalawy and producer Belal Ali on the gleefully chaotic rap cut, ‘Trella’. Inspired by MARTINA’s growing frustration with corporate life, the track takes an absurdist approach that feels particularly fitting within its left-field club setting.

Driven by the irreverent spirit that defines both MARTINA and Belal Ali’s productions, ‘Trella’ fuses abrasive sound design, industrial textures, and fractured bass into a restless, glitch-heavy soundscape. At its center, Gabalawy delivers a run of sharp, witty bars that anchor the track while amplifying its off-kilter energy.

The accompanying music video, directed by Bouhdist, expands on the track’s absurdist streak. Rather than searching for deeper meaning, the visual embraces silliness as its central premise, translating the song’s anarchic energy into a bold, deliberately unserious world where chaos is very much the point.
