Cairo-Based Dl3N Debuts Eclectic EP ‘Ykhrb 32lk’

DL3N, a Cairo-based one-man project, has just released his debut EP on SoundCloud titled ‘Ykhrb 32lk’, a six-track mini-album that features predominantly electronic production with subtle vocalizations from Ahmed Dal3ein, the man behind the project.

The production on the EP floats between genres and sounds, from hip-hop to psychedelic trap and trip-hop. DL3N incorporates these elements, creating an ethereal soundscape where the production takes center stage. Opening the EP with ‘Tarnim’, hymn-like humming vocals fade in and out through the eclectic progressive-electro mix, creating a serene intro that contrasts sharply with the following track ‘Adab’, where singing and rapping occur over acid-trap instrumentation.

DL3N seems to be heavily influenced by hip-hop in terms of vocals, which predominate throughout the EP. Although technical skill seems to fall short in certain areas, DL3N showcases personality in his songwriting and, more prominently, in his production. Through tracks like ‘Kadab’, his songwriting emerges as one of the highlights of the EP.

Throughout the album, DL3N creates a harmonious blend of different sounds and genres that feels natural and cohesive without deviating too much towards any specific sonic direction, maintaining a cohesive sonic narrative. A solid and promising debut project that showcases DL3N’s ability as a producer with a knack for curating multi-genre soundscapes.
