How Vinyl Souk Keeps Dubai’s Underground Spinning
From vinyl digging to global sounds, Vinyl Souk is building Dubai’s music melting pot.
At Sole DXB 2025, on the Groundwork stage powered by Power Horse, we caught up with Jayesh Veralkar of Vinyl Souk, a community-driven platform rooted in music discovery, vinyl digging, and the connections formed around sound.
Founded in 2023, Vinyl Souk doesn’t confine itself to one genre, scene or nationality. Instead, it reflects the reality of Dubai’s underground: a constantly shifting mix of people, influences, and sonic histories colliding in one place. From rare finds and deep cuts to global sounds that move across borders, the platform is built around curiosity and the thrill of discovering music you didn’t know you needed.
For Veralkar, Dubai’s music scene thrives precisely because of that diversity, functioning as a true melting pot where different communities, tastes, and cultures feed into one another.
This is episode three of SceneNoise x Groundwork, in collaboration with Power Horse, spotlighting the collectives shaping Dubai’s underground.
