Khawa 962’s 8ight Releases Concept Album ‘Al Ma9eer’

Amman-based producer 8ight, founder of independent electronic art label and collective Khawa 962, has introduced a new full length LP by the label titled ‘Al Ma9eer’. Featuring songs interwoven with spoken-word monologues, the project reimagines sonic storytelling, creating an immersive auditory experience that emphasises introspection and imagination.

Part of the ongoing series ‘Ma Qabl Al A’asa’, the album explores themes of self-discovery, transformation and unseen beauty. By eliminating visual elements, ‘Al Ma9eer’ relies entirely on sound, encouraging listeners to interpret its narrative individually.

Produced entirely by 8ight, the album reflects his personal artistic vision. The album features hip-hop influences and predominantly electronic production that is blended with the podcast-like vocals through the album. 8ight combines these traditional influences with contemporary production techniques, moving beyond mainstream trends to craft a distinctive sound.
