MENA Activations Happening at Amsterdam Dance Event 2026 Oct 21-23
These three activations examine the deep intersections between image, sound, identity, and memory across the Arab world.
The impact of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) 2026 extends beyond nightclub speakers and conference podiums, spilling into the city’s galleries and cultural spaces. As the world’s leading electronic music conference marks its 30th edition, daytime programming at venues including the Van Eesteren Museum and Podium Mozaïek brings MENA’s musical and visual histories into focus through interdisciplinary exhibitions and cultural activations.
These exhibitions approach Middle Eastern and North African music not as isolated sound files, but as part of a continuous visual and cultural history. By grounding contemporary club culture in rare cassette archives, golden-era film scores, photography, and diaspora-led storytelling, these three activations examine the deep intersections between image, sound, identity, and memory.
Running from October 21st to 25th, ADE 2026 brings together thousands of artists and industry professionals from around the world for a sprawling programme of panels, workshops, parties and showcases across the Dutch capital.
