OT’s New EP ‘Ground Zero’ is Deep Tech Done Right
Egyptian selector OT presents a reset point of stripped-back, unfiltered underground energy in an era of maximalism.

Cairo-based DJ and producer OT has released a new EP, ‘Ground Zero’, a sleek, minimal deep tech two-tracker built for intimate clubbing.
Released under the GOTC Sound imprint, the EP trades dramatic drops and melodic hooks for a more sparse, slow-burning soundscape that blurs the lines between the hypnotic loops of minimal techno and the fuzzy, warm nature of deep house. It is a stripped-down and uncluttered patchwork, echoing the raw, unfiltered energy of deep groove-driven cuts that only belong to the underground scene.
The title track is built around tight, crisp kick drums and soft, tingling percussion, rolling over subtle basslines and hazy textures. To truly feel it, imagine Janeret and Traumer in conversation, but with OT’s distinctly sharp, understated twist. The second cut on the record, ‘Muziik’, first premiered during OT’s takeover at SceneNoise x Sandbox’s Selectbox last year, capturing a lush minimal groover that captures the epitome of OT’s current sonic evolution, a byproduct of years of experimentation and fine-tuning across Egypt’s top dancefloors.
In an era crowded with maximalist tech-house drops and oversaturated melodic techno that is slowly swallowing the underground electronic scene in Cairo, OT’s new record–mastered by his long-time friend Wiwii–serves as a reset point, and perhaps a reminder that sometimes less is more.
