California-based AI infrastructure company SambaNova has completed the first close of a $1 billion strategic financing as part of its Series F round, valuing the company at $11 billion post-money, with participation from Qatar Investment Authority (QIA).
The round was led by General Atlantic, with significant investment from Seligman Ventures, T. Rowe Price Associates and Capital Group. Other participating investors included Intel Capital, BlackRock-managed funds and accounts, Vista Equity Partners, Battery Ventures, QIA and several new and existing backers.
SambaNova said the funding will be used to expand capacity, accelerate product innovation and scale deployments for enterprises, neo-clouds, sovereign AI customers and service providers worldwide. The company also plans to continue investing across chips, systems, software and full-stack AI infrastructure.
The company also announced that JPMorganChase has selected SambaNova as an inference infrastructure partner, deploying its SN40 and SN50 systems to power secure, on-premises AI inference.
Recent updates from SambaNova include an expanded collaboration with Intel on heterogeneous inference, the unveiling of its SN50 chip and a previously announced $350 million-plus raise.
