XP Conversations - Laughta: I've Been Holding In the Real Me For Years

British-Lebanese artist and producer Laughta has been steadily rising within London’s music scene with her quirky personality and colourful visual style. Recently, the artist was invited by the Saudi Arabian Music Commission’s ‘Music Hub’ to work on her latest project. To be released with MDLBEAST Records, the project taps into her Arabic roots, both by writing in the language, and through incorporating musical elements from her Lebanese culture.

In this XP conversation, Laughta tells us about her experience working with the Music Commision, teaching herself how to produce and building a home studio when she felt suppressed by lack of access to studio sessions, and about her experience making music in Arabic for the first time, feeling liberated after expressing that part of her personality, which she feels she has been holding back throughout her career.
