Ziad Zaza and Omar Keif Reunite on Playful Trap Banger ‘Baby Shark’
The track sees the Egyptian trailblazing pair stretching their rap formula beyond the adrenaline-fuelled rage cuts.
Egyptian producer Omar Keift has given a glimpse into his upcoming debut album with a surprise joint single, titled ‘Baby Shark’, alongside his longtime collaborator Ziad Zaza.
Mixed by Nasser and mastered by Ismail Nosrat, the track leans into a wry, stripped-back take on trap, equal parts flex and knowing satire. Built around playful nods to the infamous children’s tune, Keif’s production is precise and minimal, threading screeching analogue synths, clipped 808s and droning bursts into a tense yet controlled framework. Although the beat contrasts with Zaza’s sharp humour, gruff delivery and confrontational flow, it opens room for Zaza to cut through with ease, turning streetwise bravado into something more self-aware.
Directed by Omar Donga, the video for ‘Baby Shark’ tracks Zaza and Keif across starkly different settings, from gritty street-level scenes amid Cairo’s cemeteries and alleyways to surreal, theatrical detours, mirroring the track’s ominous tone while simultaneously highlighting their long-standing chemistry. The visual is part of a larger series created and executive-produced by Malik Tag, with cinematography by Mostafa Fathy and production by Ahmed Zahra.
Having previously shaped some of Egypt’s most recognisable rap cuts, including ‘Sama3 Akhina’ and ‘Ana Esmy Ziad Zaza’, Keif and Zaza return here with a recalibrated energy. ‘Baby Shark’ trades raw, adrenaline-fuelled aggression for a cooler, more mischievous approach, one that hints at a producer ready to stretch beyond familiar formulas as he steps toward his debut album.
