Abu Dhabi to Host First Honey Symposium During Global Food Week
The three-day event will bring together beekeepers, researchers and industry experts for workshops, tastings and a specialised honey exhibition.
The inaugural Abu Dhabi Honey Symposium and Exhibition will take place from October 6th to 8th at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi as part of Global Food Week 2026.
Hosted by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority in collaboration with Apimondia, the event will focus on sustainable beekeeping and honey production in arid environments, particularly how the sector can adapt to climate change.
The programme will bring together researchers, policymakers, beekeepers and industry specialists for presentations, workshops and practical sessions covering bee conservation, sustainable practices and the uses of bee products.
A specialised exhibition will showcase Emirati honey, apiary equipment and related technologies, while a scientific poster platform will present research and new developments in beekeeping and honey production.
The event will also include workshops on apitherapy and honey sensory evaluation, alongside a global honey tasting bar featuring varieties from different countries.
Competitions will recognise best practices in beekeeping and honey production, as well as photography, innovation and scientific research. Submissions for reports and scientific posters are due by October 1st.
The symposium will be held under the theme ‘Sustainable Beekeeping in Arid Environments — Innovative Solutions and Technologies for Climate Change Adaptation’ and forms part of Global Food Week, which runs in Abu Dhabi over the same three days.
