Nur Turkmani & Mai Serhan Lead Three-Day Writing Workshop

Writers and poets Nur Turkmani and Mai Serhan will lead a three-day genre-crossing writing workshop at Ardi in Dahshur from October 8th to 10th, bringing poetry and prose into conversation through reading, writing and observation.

Titled ‘We Are Not Afraid to Love’, the workshop will explore how language moves between forms, with sessions covering metaphor and image, music and rhythm, attention and observation, the body, place and witness, as well as language, power and resonance.

Participants will also take part in selected readings, group discussions and workshopping, with the programme open to writers, readers and anyone interested in experimenting across different literary forms.

Turkmani is a Beirut-based poet and writer whose collection ‘October’, published by Hajar Press, was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection. Serhan is a Palestinian-Egyptian poet and writer whose memoir was longlisted for the 2026 Palestine Book Awards.

The workshop will take place at Ardi in Dahshur, with arrival scheduled for 10 AM on October 8th and departure at 5 PM on October 10th. Accommodation and all meals are included, while transportation is not.
