Radisson is Taking Live Music Behind the ‘STAFF ONLY’ Doors
In collaboration with Dubai Audio, the new monthly series will bring local artists into hotel kitchens, laundry rooms and other spaces guests usually never see.
Ever wondered what is actually behind those ‘STAFF ONLY’ doors in Dubai hotels? Starting this October, Radisson Hotels is opening some of them up for a monthly event series that will turn working spaces such as kitchens, laundry rooms and lifts into intimate venues for live music and performance.
Created with Dubai Audio, ‘STAFF ONLY’ will move between Radisson properties across the UAE, with each edition built around a local artist or performer followed by an after-party. “The name comes from those familiar signs marking the parts of a hotel that guests rarely see,” said Stephanie Aboujaoude, Associate Area Vice President for Radisson Hotel Group. The idea is to keep the spaces recognisable rather than dressing them up as conventional venues.
That could mean hip-hop in a kitchen, jazz in a lift or a live recording in a laundry room. “We’re living through an incredibly exciting moment for creativity,” Aboujaoude said, with the series intended to give UAE-based artists a different kind of platform. Aliya Alara Anwar, Marketing Director of Dubai Audio, described the appeal as “exploring unexpected settings and creating moments that stay with you.”
The events will be open to the public, although capacity will be limited. No artists or headliners have been announced yet.
