Taco Bell is Returning to the UAE After 14 Years

Taco Bell is making a comeback in the UAE after 14 years away, with Dubai set to be the starting point for a new rollout across the Gulf.

The fast-food chain previously had several locations in the country before leaving the market in 2012. Now, it is returning through a partnership between Americana Restaurants and Taco Bell UK and Europe Ltd.

Americana, which already operates brands including KFC and Pizza Hut across the region, will lead the relaunch. Exact locations and opening dates have not been announced yet, but Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of the Board of Americana Restaurants, confirmed that Dubai will be first.

“Dubai adopts what’s bold and tells the world about it,” Alabbar said. “We will start here, get it right, and scale Taco Bell across the UAE and the GCC.”

For anyone who remembers Taco Bell’s previous UAE run, the return brings back a menu built around tacos, burritos, quesadillas and the kind of late-night fast food that tends to inspire very specific cravings.

The brand now has more than 9,000 restaurants worldwide, including over 1,200 outside the United States, and its UAE comeback will form part of a wider GCC expansion.
