Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games
September 19th – October 4th, Aichi-Nagoya, Japan
The Asian Games will be one of the biggest opportunities of the year for Saudi athletes, with the Kingdom sending 144 competitors across a wide range of sports. Saudi representation is expected across disciplines including athletics, boxing, equestrian, judo, karate, taekwondo, weightlifting, wrestling, shooting, squash and more.

Arabian Gulf Cup 2026, football
September 23rd – October 6th, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Football's Green Falcons will have home advantage when Saudi Arabia hosts the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup in Jeddah.
Eight Gulf nations will compete for the title, with matches taking place at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium and Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium, as Saudi Arabia look to win their fourth Gulf Cup title since last lifting the trophy in 2004.

Roshn Saudi League
August – May, Saudi Arabia
The 2026/27 Roshn Saudi League is already back in full swing and it’s louder, sharper, and more competitive than ever.
From a wave of new arrivals still settling into their first season in Saudi football, including Crysencio Summerville at Al Hilal, Alexandre Lacazette at NEOM SC and Ismaïla Sarr at Al Ahli, the new season is already getting exciting.

AFC Champions League Elite
September – May, Asia
As Al Ahli Saudi enter as the defending champions, having successfully retained their continental crown in the 2025/26 edition, and with a strong Saudi club presence in the league, Saudi sides once again enter the 2026/27 AFC Champions League Elite as some of the teams to watch in Asia’s premier club competition.

Fédération Équestre Internationale World Championships
August 19th – September 3rd, Aachen, Germany
Saudi equestrian sport gets another international spotlight at the FEI World Championships, where Saudi show jumper Abdulrahman Bader Alrajhi is among the country's athletes competing at the highest level of the sport.
Saudi Arabia has built a particularly strong international reputation in equestrian sport, including Olympic and Asian Games medals in show jumping and endurance disciplines, strong performances in FEI World Cup events, and a growing presence in hosting and competing at major international equestrian championships.

Canelo Álvarez vs Christian Mbilli
October 31st, Riyadh
Saudi Arabia's appetite for blockbuster boxing shows no signs of slowing down.
Canelo Álvarez is scheduled to return to Riyadh on October 31 to face unbeaten super-middleweight champion Christian Mbilli. The fight is another major international sporting attraction coming to the Kingdom, bringing one of boxing's biggest stars back to the Riyadh spotlight.

FIA Extreme H World Cup
October 29th–31st, Qiddiya City
The world's first hydrogen-powered motorsport World Cup returns to Qiddiya City for its second edition.
Extreme H combines off-road racing with hydrogen-powered technology, making the Saudi round as much about the future of motorsport as it is about the racing itself. The championship has confirmed Qiddiya as one of its flagship locations, with the 2026 Saudi round running from October 29 to 31.

WRC Rally Saudi Arabia
November 11th–14th, Jeddah
The World Rally Championship will finish its 2026 season in Saudi Arabia, with the Kingdom hosting the final round from November 11 to 14.
Based around Jeddah, the rally will take crews through a mix of fast desert roads and rougher, technical terrain, with the championship potentially being decided in the Kingdom.

T100 Saudi Arabia
November 27th, Jeddah
The world's best long-distance triathletes will head to Saudi Arabia for the T100 Triathlon World Tour, with the men's professional race scheduled for November 27.
The race brings together a field of elite swimmers, cyclists and runners for a 100km endurance challenge, with Saudi Arabia's landscape providing the backdrop.

Riyadh Racing Season
November 27th, Jeddah
Horse racing returns to King Abdulaziz Racecourse in October, kicking off the new Riyadh Racing Season.
Meetings will take place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday throughout the season, bringing together Saudi and international jockeys, trainers and horses as the racing calendar builds towards the Saudi Cup in February 2027.

Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games
December 11th–21st, Riyadh
Riyadh will close out the year with the sixth Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games, bringing around 3,000 athletes together across 18 sports and 122 events.
The programme includes boxing, judo, jiu-jitsu, karate, mixed martial arts, Muay Thai, taekwondo, weightlifting, wrestling, squash, padel, futsal and more — giving Saudi athletes another major opportunity to compete for medals in front of a home crowd.

Formula E – Jeddah E-Prix
December 18th–19th, Jeddah
Formula E will open its 2026/27 season with a double-header in Jeddah, marking the return of Saudi Arabia as the championship's season opener and the competitive debut of the new GEN4 cars.
The two night races will take place at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, bringing electric motorsport back to the Kingdom at the start of a record 21-race season.
The event is currently listed for December 18–19, although the calendar remains provisional in light of recent political events.
