Egyptian Label Be Native Lands Feet-First With Homegrown Footwear
Debuting with a classic sneaker silhouette, Be Native just took its first steps into the Egyptian fashion scene.
Over the past few years, Egypt has witnessed a surge in homegrown brands—a flourishing movement that deserves celebration. Yet amidst this rise, one gap remained largely unfilled: footwear. Enter Be Native, the newly launched Egyptian footwear brand aiming to fill that void with style and purpose.
Founded by entrepreneurs Ahmed Abozeid and Khaled Rashwan, Be Native debuted in November 2024 with a mission to connect people—one might even say they’re uniting “soles.” For their first drop, the brand introduced the BN-10, a singular sneaker silhouette offered in an array of colours and editions.
“We’ve long been interested in fashion, but we noticed a gap elsewhere: footwear. We decided to go for an instantly recognizable classic silhouette and explore new things with it,” co-founder Ahmed Abozeid tells SceneStyled. The duo’s passion for contemporary design is evident in the BN-10 collection, which plays with subtle colour-blocking for a refined aesthetic.
Co-founder Khaled Rashwan elaborates, “We spent two years producing samples. When you introduce something new to the market, you need to be completely confident that your end product can compete with global standards.” Determined to create a standout product, the founders ensured that every aspect of the brand reflects their values. “We wanted this brand to be entirely Egyptian—designed, manufactured, and sold in Egypt,” Rashwan explains.
The BN-10 was carefully chosen as the brand’s inaugural design, with versatility at its core. “It’s a silhouette that fits all sorts of lifestyles and works with pretty much every outfit,” Rashwan says. “This is the kind of design you can play around with to create hundreds of combinations.”
But Be Native isn’t just about sneakers—it’s about community. Abozeid shares the founders’ broader vision: “We’re trying to foster a sense of togetherness through collaborations that bring individuals and brands together. Be Native is all about being part of a community, being one of its natives.”
With additional designs on the horizon, Be Native is poised to make its mark, one homegrown sneaker at a time.
