Arizona's Miraval to Open Its First Global Retreat on Shura Island

Miraval Resorts & Spas—the Arizona luxury wellness hotelier known for its immersive, adults-only retreats—is bringing its signature approach to intentional living to the Middle East with the opening of Miraval The Red Sea on Saudi Arabia’s Shura Island in early 2026. Marking the brand’s first destination outside the United States, the all-inclusive, adults-only resort will anchor its experience in wellbeing, sustainability, and purposeful disconnection along the Red Sea coast.
Spanning 278,000 square metres, the resort has been designed by Foster + Partners, with interiors by Rockwell Group, and places nature and regeneration at the heart of its vision. Its 180 rooms, suites, and villas are shaped around indoor-outdoor living, featuring terraces, decks, and expansive views that encourage rest, reflection, and reconnection with the surrounding landscape.
Wellness takes centre stage across the property, from a Serenity Centre dedicated to meditation and quiet reflection to a Body Mindfulness Centre offering Pilates, group fitness, and functional training, alongside an Aquatic Centre. The resort will also house the largest spa facility on Shura Island, with the Life in Balance Spa featuring 39 treatment rooms, hammams, vitality pools, salt rooms, sensory showers, and wellness suites inspired by global and regional healing traditions.
Culinary experiences are guided by executive chef Hamdy Hassan, whose background in nutritional science shapes menus rooted in mindful eating and farm-to-table practices. Dining venues range from all-day restaurant Rosemary to tapas at Coral Cove, light bites at Palm Court, and open-fire cooking at Just Cook for Me, alongside immersive workshops at the Life in Balance Culinary Kitchen.
Miraval The Red Sea will operate on an all-inclusive model, with each stay covering meals, beverages, snacks, and a daily resort credit of USD 187 to be used on spa treatments, private sessions, or selected activities.
