Two Holiday Inn Hotels to Open in Aswan by 2030
Both properties are expected to include a mix of dining outlets, meeting and event spaces, and leisure facilities.
Global Hotelier IHG Hotels & Resorts is setting its sights on Egypt, signing two new Holiday Inn properties in Aswan.
The dual signing will bring Holiday Inn Aswan and Holiday Inn Resort New Aswan, adding a combined 400 rooms to the destination. The first, set near the city centre and its historic landmarks, is slated to open in 2029, while the second leans into a slower, resort-style stay in New Aswan, expected by 2030.
Both properties are expected to include a mix of dining outlets, meeting and event spaces, and leisure facilities, positioning them to cater to both international tourists and domestic travellers. The resort development, in particular, is being designed around longer stays, tapping into the growing demand for experience-led travel across Upper Egypt.
This marks the brand’s official entry into Aswan, betting on a destination long loved for its river views, Nubian culture, and layered history, but now inching toward a more structured, globally branded hospitality scene.
