The Talents Behind Hit YouTube Show El Da7ee7 Are Releasing a New Book

You’ve watched him online, and soon you will be able to read all about what goes on behind the scenes with Ahmed Al-Ghandour aka ‘El Da7ee7’. A new book by Taher El Moataz Bellah, the screenwriter behind the famous YouTube channel ‘El Da7ee7’, will give fans an inside look on the production of the show, the crew that makes it all work, and the story behind its rise as a household name amongst Egypt’s content creators. The book - simply titled ‘El Da7ee7’ - will be published by Dar Al-Shorouk, and will soon be available in libraries across Cairo.

Ahmed Al-Ghandour emerged as one of the region’s most influential content creators when he launched his YouTube show in 2014, amassing hundreds of millions of views with his witty yet down-to-earth breakdowns of high-brow topics with a focus on science, philosophy, and cultural phenomenon. Al-Ghandour signed a contract with AJ+ in 2017, further boosting his popularity and earning him an invitation to speak at Harvard University’s Arab Conference, the largest pan-Arab conference in North America. Following his exit from AJ+, Al-Ghandour signed with ‘New Media Academy’, a channel founded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, leader of the UAE. A testament to his ever-increasing popularity, his first episode, ‘Boredom’, racked up one million views within 15 hours.

Al-Ghandour was selected by the Arab Youth Center in their Young Arab Pioneers list, featuring 100 influential people under 35 who have left a positive impact on their communities. He was also shortlisted for IBC’s 2019 Young Pioneer Award and Social Impact Award, given to those who have made an outstanding contribution to the media industry.
