1,500 Hotel Rooms Will Be Built Near Grand Egyptian Museum
Accommodations are being made to serve visitors of the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Great Pyramids of Giza.
According to Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, the Egyptian government plans to add 1,500 hotel rooms to serve visitors of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) and the Great Pyramids of Giza.
The Grand Egyptian Museum, the world’s largest museum dedicated to a single civilisation, is located on a 480,000-square-metre plot of land approximately two kilometres from the Giza pyramid complex. Around late 2020, the Egyptian government drew up plans to develop a 52 acre area just for hotels behind the GEM, hoping to transform the area into a hub that will connect tourists to the pyramids as well as to historic destinations across Cairo and beyond.
