Ministry of Environment Launches First Training Programme for Colleges

The Ministry of Environment will launch their first training programme for college students on handling the challenges of climate change, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education.
The programme is part of a wider effort to involve Egypt's youth in the fight against climate change and to preserve the environment. The ministry's initiative hopes to change perspectives on not just air, water and noise pollution, but on the global scope of environmentalism, including consciousness of issues concerning biodiversity and desertification.
News of the new training programme came out during a meeting about the COP27 United Nations Climate Change Conference coming to Sharm El Sheikh in late 2022. During the meeting, Egyptian representatives proposed the addition of a new 'Green Venture Project' event to the conference, which would challenge innovative youth to present their ideas for activities and entrepreneurship that could help protect the environment.
