Ministry of Health Raises Number of Vaccination Centres to 657

After setting the ambitious target of vaccinating 35 million Egyptians over the next three months, the Ministry of Health and Population has increased the number of COVID-19 vaccination centres across the country to 657, up from 580 centres.
Additionally, another 11 offices for obtaining vaccination certificates for travel have been established, as the country prepares to ensure operational normality for the next phase of the COVID-19 pandemic with the growing presence of the ‘Delta’ strain.
Meanwhile, in the Governorates of Sharqia and Assiut, “major centres” are being prepared according to the Minister of Health, Dr. Hala Zayed, to ensure a balanced geographical distribution of vaccinations within the country.
Zayed reaffirmed the effectiveness of the jab, pointing to the wealth of research demonstrating the vaccines’ effectiveness in reducing hospitalisation and death rates for the groups most at-risk from COVID-19.
