Mohamed Salah Wins the PFA Fans' Player of the Year Award

While he and his mates might not have gotten their hands on the Champion League title this year, Liverpool forward and Egyptian icon Mohamed Salah has nevertheless walked away from Paris like a winner, having retained the Professional Football Association’s Fans’ Player of the Year award for the second year in a row. It’s the third time he’s won the award, having first gotten it in 2018.


The PFA Fans’ Player of the Year award is determined by a vote amongst fans of the league, and is given out to the top four flights of English football. Mo Salah claimed the title within the Premier League, while Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrović received it under the English Football  League Championship. The title within League One and League Two went to Sunderland's Ross Stewart and Forest Green Rovers' Jamille Matt respectively.


This victory came shortly after Salah secured his third Golden Boot award, sharing the title with Tottenham forward Son Heung-min with 23 goals scored throughout the Premier League season.
