Mystery Tunnel in Khufu Pyramid Revealed With New Scanning Technology
The scanning technology provides researchers with a safe, non-invasive method of studying historic monuments.
Mar 02, 2023
A never-before-seen nine-metre long corridor has just been discovered inside the Khufu pyramid, thanks to the use of a new scanning technology.
Found in the northern part of the pyramid, the discovery was part of ‘Scan Pyramids’, a multinational archaeological mission using infra-red thermography and muons tomography to produce three-dimensional imagery of the insides of the Great Pyramids of Giza. This new scanning method is designed to provide researchers with a safe, non-invasive method of studying historic monuments.
