New Museum to Chronicle Saudi Arabian Esports Achievements
The Saudi Arabian Museum of Esports will tell the story of the Saudi Arabian Esports Federation since its establishment in 2017.
To commemorate the achievements of Saudi Arabian esports players in recent years, Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Esports Federation, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, inaugurated the Saudi Arabian Museum of Esports.
Located in the SEF Arena in Riyadh City Boulevard, the museum houses a unique structure that makes up the world's largest gaming and esports area. It features a variety of sections, including a special department that documents significant moments in the history of Saudi Arabian esports, like the announcement of hosting the World Cup of Esports in the Kingdom, Mosaad Aldossary winning the FIFA eWorld Cup in 2018 and the Saudi Arabian national team winning the 2023 Overwatch World Cup. The museum will also include media interviews conducted by Deputy Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman with notable figures in the esports industry.
“We realise that yesterday's achievements are the solid foundation for tomorrow's accomplishments, and this is where the importance of the museum lies as a witness to the glorious history and a beacon that illuminates the path of a bright future,” Turki Al-Fawzan, CEO of the Saudi Arabian Esports Federation, tells SceneNowSaudi.
The construction of the museum symbolises the strategic importance of the gaming and esports sector and the Kingdom's pioneering role in this field. The museum's opening coincides with Riyadh hosting the inaugural edition of the World Cup of Esports at the SEF Arena in the heart of Riyadh City Boulevard.
