Dr. Mostafa Waziri, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, explained that the existing public entrance - on the ‘Fayoum side’ - is currently too narrow to efficiently accommodate tourist footfall.

The restructuring of the entrance facilities are amongst a slew of other new services and developments previously documented including a state-of-the-art Visitor’s Centre, electric bus routes and a tourist walkway linking the Giza Plateau to the Grand Egyptian Museum.
