Three Restored Tombs in Valley of the Kings Have Been Reopened

Three tombs in the Valley of the Kings - namely the burial places of Ramses IX, Seti II and Siptah - have been reopened after extensive routine maintenance. The tomb of Ramses IX is widely praised as an archaeological marvel featuring intricate paintings and hieroglyphics.

The restoration project will continue with the tombs of Ramses III and Ramses VII, which have been closed to the public.

The restoration works are part of a long-term project by the Supreme Council of Antiquities to maintain the ancient sites in the Valley of the Kings, with a focus on maintaining the tombs’ delicate paintwork and structural integrity.
