Narcy & Redveil Release 'Sword,' a

Iraqi-Canadian rapper and multidisciplinary artist Yassin Alsalman, aka Narcy has teamed up with rising American rapper Redveil to release ‘Sword’, a haunting ballad that reflects on the suffering and devastation in Gaza and Lebanon. The track, set against a backdrop of eerie, drumless chords, channels anger and despair as Narcy delivers potent verses, addressing the brutal attacks and the plight of the people, particularly women and children, in these war-torn regions.

Narcy's lyrics paint a vivid picture of the global response, or lack thereof, to the atrocities unfolding in Gaza and Lebanon. With lines like, "Live from Yom Al Qiyama / War crimes on the feed," he likens the devastation to judgment day, condemning the indifference of world leaders and organizations to the suffering of innocent lives. His words cut deep, portraying a world in chaos, where compassion is in short supply and corporate and political interests dominate. He grieves the "dysfunctional swirl" of a world that allows such horrors to unfold, while simultaneously pushing back against the forces of oppression.

Redveil’s verse complements Narcy’s reflective tone, adding a personal layer of resilience. He references his own experiences and those of immigrant families, drawing parallels between the perseverance of his ancestors and the endurance of those enduring war today. His delivery, raw and grounded, echoes the determination of the displaced, the marginalized, and the oppressed.

The music video for ‘Sword’ is equally powerful, featuring footage of the destroyed landscapes of Gaza and Lebanon, juxtaposed with Narcy and Redveil’s stirring performances. The stark imagery of war-torn cities adds another layer to the song’s message, making the suffering impossible to ignore.

All the proceeds from the song will be donated to the children of Gaza and Lebanon.
