AFAC & OSN Launch Open Call For Writers’ Room Mentorship Programme
Over seven months, accepted writers will get to explore their series with support and feedback from the AFAC team.
As Arab series take on new formats and continue to bring untold stories to light while populating streaming platforms regionally and globally, the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) is launching a new mentorship programme for budding writers who wish to create their own television series.
Over the course of seven months, The Writers’ Room programme will allow seven chosen participants to come in and explore their series with support and feedback from the AFAC team through three residencies and one-on-one mentorship sessions.
Built on collaboration, the Writers’ Room is based on the traditional creative filmmaking process dating back to the 1950s. The Writers’ Room is funded by regional streaming platform OSN and led by AFAC, who’ve announced the open call for the programme’s first cycle.
Applications for the Writer’s Room programme are open till July 11th.
