Egyptian stars and filmmakers honour Palestine tonight at the Cairo International Film Festival’s opening ceremony.
Following CIFF President Hussein Fahmy’s earlier announcement dedicating this edition to Palestine, celebrities showed their solidarity by wearing pins of the Palestinian flag and incorporating keffiyeh-inspired designs into their attire.
The festival launches its programme tonight with a screening of the Palestinian film Passing Dreams, directed by Rashid Masharawi, and debuts its first-ever Palestinian Film Award.
