Egypt’s Electronic Gaming Market Nears USD 1 Billion
The market reached USD 912.9 million in 2025 and is projected to grow to USD 1.8 billion by 2034.
Egypt’s electronic games market reached USD 912.9 million in 2025 and is projected to grow to USD 1.8 billion by 2034, according to a new report from the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center.
Based on IMARC estimates, the market is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 7.61% between 2026 and 2034.
The report identifies a young population, widespread smartphone use, improving digital infrastructure, growing interest in esports and a larger pool of software and creative talent among the main drivers of local growth.
It also argues that capturing more of the sector’s economic value will depend on increasing domestic game development, production and exports, alongside stronger startup support, investor links and intellectual property protection.
Globally, the electronic games market reached USD 201.6 billion in 2025, with around 3.6 billion players. Mobile games accounted for USD 113.3 billion in revenue, ahead of consoles at USD 44.7 billion and PC games at USD 43.6 billion.
The report also highlights generative AI, cloud gaming, virtual and augmented reality and live-service models as technologies likely to reshape the industry.
Alongside growth opportunities, the centre flagged risks including excessive use, cyberbullying, privacy concerns, in-game purchases, loot boxes and exposure to inappropriate content, particularly among children and adolescents.
