The call covers the festival’s Independents Area at Mahmoud Mokhtar Museum in Cairo with applications accepted through September 30th, 2025.

CairoComix Festival has opened registration for its Independents Area in Cairo, with applications accepted until September 30th, 2025. The festival invites independent artists to book space to sell comics, printed artwork, and posters through its official channels. Founded in 2015, CairoComix (also known as Cairo Comix Con) has become one of Egypt’s central platforms for comic art and independent creators. Past editions of the festival have included exhibitions, workshops, portfolio reviews, and awards such as Best Published Graphic Novel in Arabic, Best Digital Comic, Best Comics Magazine, and Best Comic Strip. One of the festival’s signature features has long been its Independent Artists’ Square, a zone where creators display and sell their works directly to the public. The festival also embraces cross-disciplinary connections - including intersections with animation, street art, video art, and graphic design - positioning it as part of the broader independent arts movement across Egypt and the MENA region. The 2025 festival will be hosted at the Mahmoud Mokhtar Museum, located at 5 Tahrir Street, Cairo. Registration details and application links are available on the CairoComix website and Instagram.
