Composer Khaled Dagher Appointed New Cairo Opera House Chairman

The Ministry of Culture has appointed music composer Khaled Dagher as the new chairman of the Cairo Opera House, succeeding ballet artist Magdy Saber.

Dagher was previously head of the Artistic House of the Cairo Opera House, and as well as a professor at the Conservatoire. Son of internationally acclaimed violinist Abdo Dagher, Khaled Dagher is a renowned cello player who helped bring several hit TV series and films in Egyptian cinema to life with his mesmerizing music including ‘El Kaher: Kabul’ (2021), ‘El Badla’ (2018), and ‘Ishtibak’ (2016), amongst others.
