Running all through June, the screenings will include films like Avatar 2, Cinema Paradiso and Kit Kat.
The General Authority for Culture Palaces hosted in Cairo’s Garden City has announced that it will screen nine films with free entry all through the month of June.
The month-long event, hosted in cooperation with the Animation Cinema Club and the European Cinema Club, is set to showcase a number of titles both European and Egyptian and spanning a number of genres. While some films like James Cameron’s ‘Avatar 2’ and Giuseppe Tornatore’s ‘The Legend of 1900’ have already been screened, audiences can look forward to family features such as ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ on June 10th and ‘Black Adam’ on June 11th. ‘Cinema Paradiso’ will be screened shortly afterwards on June 12th.
On June 24th, Daoud Abdel Sayed’s ode to the Egyptian working class district, ‘Kit Kat’, will be on show, followed by international features ‘Clash of the Titans’ on June 25th and ‘Correspondence’ on June 26th.
The month will wrap up with ‘The Decision’, an Egyptian film screened in honour of the anniversary of the 30 June Revolution, on June 27th. A number of screenings will be followed by discussions with film critics Nader Rafaei and Nashwa Nabil, as well as with director Essam Helmy. All film screenings will take place at 8 PM.
