Film Clinic founder Mohamed Hefzy also unveiled a slate of upcoming projects, including six films in various stages of development.
Leading Egyptian independent production and distribution company Film Clinic, founded and led by Mohamed Hefzy, announced at the Red Sea International Film Festival’s Red Sea Souk the opening of a new office in Riyadh in early 2025. The expansion, coinciding with Film Clinic’s 20th anniversary, aims to foster collaboration with Saudi filmmakers, strengthen the local film industry, and build on existing partnerships with companies such as Front Row Filmed Entertainment, Ithra, and Arabia Pictures Group.
“By establishing a presence in Saudi Arabia, particularly in Riyadh, we aim to collaborate with local talents and creators, telling authentic and entertaining stories directed by Saudi filmmakers,” Hefzy told SceneNowSaudi. “We aspire to contribute to the development of Saudi Arabia’s film industry infrastructure while forging new partnerships and continuing our successful collaborations with longstanding partners.”
Alongside this expansion, Film Clinic unveiled a slate of upcoming projects, including six films in various stages of development and production, three of which are Saudi. One of the highlights is "A Matter of Life or Death", a Saudi dark romantic comedy directed by Anas Batahh and co-produced with Front Row, Arabia Pictures, and Rotana Studios. Other films include "Berlin", a German-Egyptian crime-drama directed by Ahmed Abdallah, and "Summer ‘67", an Egyptian-European co-production directed by Abu Bakr Shawky, starring Nelly Karim and Amir El-Masry.
