Middle East Premiere of 'Dune: Part Two' Will Be Hosted in Abu Dhabi
Lead actors Josh Brolin and Dave Bautista will join director Denis Villeneuve on the red carpet.
The hotly-anticipated second installment of Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune’ will have its regional premiere in Abu Dhabi, where much of the on-location filming for both the first film and this new sequel was done.
Based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel, the first Dune film was released in 2021 with huge box office success, but much was left unfinished. ‘Dune: Part Two’ will soon finish off the story of dynastic conflict and conquest on a galactic scale.
The fictional desert planet of Arrakis was brought to life in large part by on-location filming in around 20 locations across Abu Dhabi, as well as other filming locations in Jordan and Norway. Big names Josh Brolin and Dave Bautista will join director Villeneuve at the red carpet for this event, with many other familiar faces - Timothee Chalamet, Zandaya and Austin Butler to name a few - gracing the silver screen when the film starts rolling.
After the Abu Dhabi premiere on February 18th, the film will be released to the public on February 29th in the UAE and Lebanon. Other audiences in the Middle East will have to remain patient for over a month for the film’s release on April 11th, coinciding with Eid Al Fitr holidays.
