A new documentary directed by Tamer Mohsen was just announcement one day after the official opening of the Tutankhamun Gallery at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). The film’s trailer follows the meticulous process of transferring the boy king’s iconic golden mask and other treasures from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to their new home at GEM, marking the first time the full Tutankhamun collection is displayed together.
Coinciding with the historic gallery reveal, the documentary is set to offer a behind-the-scenes look at years of delicate preservation and transport, capturing the precision and pride behind one of Egypt’s most significant cultural moves in modern history.
