A new poster for Egyptian movie ‘Shamarikh’ pays tribute to actor Mostafa Darwish, who passed away on May 1st, 2023 during production of the film. Director Amr Salama announced that he has dedicated the film to Darwish’s memory, particularly since it serves as his last on-screen appearance.
While he made his mark in the popular comedy-drama show ‘B 100 Wesh’ (2020), Darwish’s career stretches across a wide variety of notable films and series, including ‘5 Rounds’ (2023), ‘Kamel El Adad’(2022), ‘Rag’een Ya Hawa’(2022), and ‘Suits Arabia’ (2022).
To be screened at the Red Sea International Film Festival on December 1st, ‘Shamarikh’ - a thriller about an assassin who falls in love with his target - features a star-studded cast including Asser Yassin, Amina Khalil, Khaled El Sawy and the late Mostafa Darwish. The film is scheduled to hit Egyptian cinemas on December 14th.
