Nominations Now Open for Second Round of ‘Great Arab Minds’ Awards
The initiative was created to honor exceptional achievements across six categories, with each winner receiving AED 1 million.
Nominations for the second edition of the Great Arab Minds Awards are now open, as announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed described the awards as “a seed that we plant today for the future,” with the initiative designed to honor achievements across six categories: medicine, engineering and technology, economics, natural sciences, architecture and design, and literature and arts. Nominations are open for both individuals and institutions until October 31st, and the AED 6 million prize pool offers AED 1 million for the winner of each category.
Known as the 'Arab Nobel Prize', the awards aim to recognize groundbreaking contributions and encourage the return of Arab talent to the region. The initiative was launched with a AED 100 million budget to nurture Arab excellence in science, innovation, and the arts. Evaluation criteria include tangible results, publications, patents, and research.
