Sharjah Art Foundation Opens Submissions for Corniche 8

The Sharjah Art Foundation has opened applications for the eighth edition of Corniche, inviting artists and comic creators residing in GCC countries to submit proposals for the upcoming publication. The initiative provides a platform for participants to develop original illustrated narratives while engaging in a collaborative creative process.

Selected applicants will take part in a three-day forum designed to facilitate the exchange of ideas and perspectives among artists and storytellers from across the region. Following the forum, participants will create a six-page illustrated story for inclusion in Corniche 8, the latest edition of the Foundation’s comics anthology.

The open call welcomes a broad range of artistic approaches and viewpoints, encouraging submissions that explore subjects such as personal experiences, science fiction, fantasy and mythology. The Foundation has stated that the project aims to support diverse forms of storytelling and visual expression through the medium of comics.

Corniche 8 is scheduled to be released during the next edition of Focal Point 2026, Sharjah Art Foundation’s annual gathering dedicated to critical dialogue and exchange within the arts.

Applications for the programme will remain open until June 30th 2026. Further information about eligibility requirements and the application process is available through the submission link provided by the Foundation.
