Sharjah Art Foundation Launches Online Radio Platform

Sharjah Art Foundation has launched SAF Radio, a new online platform dedicated to music, storytelling and cultural programming from the region and beyond.

Rooted in Sharjah and featuring bilingual programming, SAF Radio explores the evolution of musical traditions across generations and cultures through music shows, artist playlists, cultural features and live pop-up broadcasts. The platform also incorporates archival recordings from the Foundation's collection, bringing historical and contemporary listening experiences together.

According to the Foundation, SAF Radio is designed to encourage slower, more attentive listening by placing human curation and storytelling at the centre of its programming.

The platform launches with Aswaat, a seasonal music programme conceived as a continuous listening experience organised around mood and atmosphere rather than genre. Each episode unfolds as a single uninterrupted mix inspired by a particular moment or feeling, from early mornings and rainy afternoons to late-night drives, blending styles including tarab, neo-soul, ambient music and contemporary sounds from the region.

The first season of Aswaat comprises 12 one-hour episodes.

Sharjah Art Foundation said the platform will continue expanding with new programmes, collaborations and live broadcasts that support artists, musicians and cultural practitioners.

SAF Radio is now available through the Sharjah Art Foundation website.
