Zawya Cinema Opens Submissions for 2025 Edition of Short Film Festival

Zawya Shorts, a short film festival held annually by Downtown Cairo’s Zawya Cinema, has opened submissions for its 9th edition this March, offering filmmakers a platform to showcase their work and join in moderated discussions on the filmmaking process.

Entries should be four to 30 minutes long, created from 2024 to 2025, and must not have been submitted in previous editions. Selected films will compete for awards, with more details to be announced soon.

Filmmakers are invited to send in one film by January 25th, 2025 via Vimeo or YouTube, accompanied by a completed application form, which is offered in both English and Arabic on Zawya’s Instagram bio and Facebook page.
