Zawya Cinema to Screen Films from the 11th Cairo Video Festival
The movies will be screened on December 12th and the 15th, from 7 PM to 9 PM.
The 11th edition of Cairo Video Festival will make its way to Zawya Cinema with live screenings, with the first one happening on Thursday, December 12th, from 7 PM to 9 PM, and the second one on Sunday, December 15th, from 7 PM to 9 PM.
The screenings will be hosted by Medrar, and in collaboration with the Swiss Arts Council, the French Embassy, the French Institute in Egypt, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Canada Council for the Arts.
The first screening will present six films that are curated and programmed by Ismail Fayed under the theme ‘Speculative Meditations’, followed by a discussion with Fayed and Sama Waly. The second screening will include works developed during the Cairo Compressed workshop, in addition to a discussion with Mena Elshazly. All movies will be translated into Arabic. The project is funded by the European Union in partnership with EUNIC Egypt.
